It looks like Arsenal's 'next Fabregas' could be playing for the USA soon

Midfielder Gedion Zelalem has reportedly declared his interest in representing the ol’ red, white and blue.

DESPITE HAVING NOT made a league appearance for Arsenal yet, Gedion Zelalem has attracted many admirers.

The attacking midfielder beats players for fun, has an impressive passing range and while his club career hasn’t really begun, it looks like the 17-year-old is making his mind up regarding his international future.

Zelalem was born in Germany to Ethiopian parents but according to the President of the US football federation, the Arsenal youngster has become an American citizen with a view to joining up with Jurgen Klinsmann’s side.

Klinsmann has previously used his German connection to get a couple of players into his squad including the highly touted Bayern Munich winger Julian Green.

The hype around Zelalem is even greater though, with The Guardian writing a piece earlier this year with the title: ‘Arsenal’s next Fabregas? Wonderkid Gedion Zelalem has the world at his feet’

He has a long way to go to fulfill his promise but Zelalem looks like he will be a great addition to Arsenal and the USA.

Hopefully he turns out better than another massively hyped American teenager.

It’s refreshing to see a young player decide his international future so early. We should give him Jack Grealish’s number.
