Guess who's back? McGuigan returns to Tyrone panel

The 32-year-old is back in training just 10 days before the Red Hand begin their Ulster SFC campaign.

TYRONE’S INJURY WOES have been slightly eased by the news that veteran forward Brian McGuigan has returned to training.

McGuigan, 32, called time on his inter-county career last November but was tempted off the shelf by manager Mickey Harte after a spate of injuries decimated the Red Hand panel.

The Ardboe clubman trained with the team last night and could make his playing return next weekend when Tyrone travel to Armagh for their Ulster championship quarter-final.

Earlier this week, Harte revealed that he had been in contact with one of the squad’s old hands regarding a return after losing the experienced Sean Cavanagh to a shoulder injury.

McGuigan was part of the All-Ireland winning teams of 2003, 2005 and 2008, winning an All-Star award for his contribution to Tyrone’s maiden title.
