ON SATURDAY, HUDDERSFIELD Town beat Manchester United 2-1 at The John Smith’s Stadium.
A young Huddersfield fan, Adam Bhana, was in attendance. As he watched his favourite players in action on a day he’ll remember for the rest of his life, he also found a £5 note.
Afterwards, he sent the money along with a letter to the club, asking for it to be given to man-of-the-match Aaron Mooy ‘because he played very well and scored’.
Here’s the letter in full, which was addressed to Huddersfield’s Director Sean Jarvis:
“Dear Sean,
I was at the Huddersfield against Manchester United match.
I found a £5 note at the stadium and gave it to dad because we can not keep things that are not ours.
Can you please ask Mr Wagner if Aaron Mooy can keep the money because he played very well and scored yesterday.
I have put the £5 note in the envelope.
Thank you,
Adam Bhana”
Jarvis posted the letter on Twitter yesterday, with Mooy replying ‘I would love to meet you Adam’.
Adam’s dad Mo was on BBC Radio 5 today, and said that initially his son wanted to give the £5 note to the club to boost transfer funds.
“To begin with he was undecided. He wanted to maybe give it to the club for a transfer of Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Huddersfield but then he decided to give it to Mooy instead.
“When we found it he said ‘we can’t keep what’s not ours so we have to give it back’.

“We asked a couple of people behind us if it belonged to them and they said it didn’t so I looked behind us and there was a club press officer talking to someone.
“We tried to get his attention but couldn’t as he was busy in conversation, so Adam decided to write a letter instead.”
Mo continued: “We’ve heard from Mooy.
“The club are going to facilitate something for him this week hopefully. They’ve been great.
“I’m a club ambassador so I know a few people there already. It’s a great family club and set-up. The comments on social media have been heart-warming too.”
And Mooy tweeted this evening: “Looking forward to meeting young Adam on Friday”
