Tickets sold out for All Blacks test in November

The IRFU has announced that the Aviva Stadium is a sell-out for the visit of New Zealand.

THE IRFU HAS confirmed that the autumn international against the All Blacks is a sell-out, five weeks ahead of the clash on Sunday 24th November.

Irish rugby’s governing body has shared its thanks to clubs across the country after highlighting a 40% increase in ticket sales on the corresponding November internationals in 2012.

The news will come as a disappointment for those fans who were hoping to get their hands on a precious ticket to watch Ireland attempt to beat the current world champions for the first time in history. The Brian O’Driscoll factor™ adds even more spice to the occasion.

Tickets are sill available for preceding two games against Samoa and Australia, and there is also the chance to get to the All Blacks game through the three-match packages still up for sale. The IRFU has also announced that it will “provide €400 to rugby clubs to defray the costs of travelling to the opening fixture of the Guinness Series against Samoa.”

The IRFU’s Director of Communications, Stephen McNamara, said: “There is a huge level of excitement about the Guinness Series and that is reflected in marked increase in ticket sales through the clubs this year.

“Now with the New Zealand game a sell-out and the Australia and Samoa tickets selling fast we are set for three great days at the Aviva this November.”

It seems that Joe Schmidt’s appointment as head coach of the national team is already reaping rewards.
