Jack Butland to Rob Elliot: 'Come round to mine and we can watch the Euros together'

England and Ireland keepers make summer plans after injury nightmares cost them Euros place.

IT HAS BEEN a horrible few days for Jack Butland and Rob Elliot — but at least they’ve got each other.

England keeper Butland was ruled out of Euro 2016 after he fractured his ankle against Germany on Saturday, leaving him in need of surgery and facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

A similar fate awaits Elliot who suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Ireland’s 2-2 draw against Slovakia last night, and will miss “several months.”

Their respective international dreams shattered, Butland sent his best wishes to Elliot on Wednesday afternoon and injected a bit of humour into an otherwise grim situation.

“Mate, gutted for you and wish you a solid recovery!” the Stoke keeper tweeted.

“You can come round mine and we can watch the Euros together!

“Head up mate!”
