JOHN CLEARY HAS ruled himself out of the running for the next Cork senior football manager, according to reports.

Cleary has been heavily linked with the role but The Southern Star reports that the Castlehaven man will not be taking over.

Senior footballers are understood to have approached Cleary in an attempt to persuade him to become Brian Cuthbert’s successor, but time commitments are reportedly the reason for his reluctance to take charge.
