Ladies' man? Dublin footballer Eamon Fennell tries his luck on Take Me Out

Midfielder is centre of attention as he faces his stiffest opposition yet – the ‘flirty 30′ on the TV dating show.

HE’S MORE USED to performing under Parnell Park floodlights  than the hot studio lights of Ballymount.

But Dublin footballer Eamon Fennell will be seen strutting his stuff on TV3 dating show Take Me Out this Friday night.

The midfielder joins host, Ray Foley of Today FM, to the tune of Dance With Me before he tells the wall of single ladies about his role as a Gaelic Games Coordinator.

The true Blue midfielder then attempts to impress the female contestants with a well-rehearsed trick with a hamster. Fennell and the rodent work their magic as he’s left with the luxury of whittling ‘a good selection of girls’ to just two, according to the station.

Fennell helps Emma Russell from Tipperary to set a record for a fastest date on the show as she walks away with the footballer after only 15 minutes on the prime-time programme. This is the kind of carry-on we can expect:

Transfer saga

The midfielder is currently at the centre of a long-running club transfer saga. Last week it weas reported his bid to move from O’Tooles to St Vincent’s may end up in the European Courts.

O’Tooles are refusing to the let their man move across the city but Fennell insists he will not return to his first club. He urged Association chiefs to help bring the saga to and end. “I’m hoping Croke Park could step into this case because it’s going on for over four years,” he said.

I think I have served my penance. Everyone knows all I wanted to do was play football. It was never a case that it was me versus O’Tooles. It probably got a bit spiteful there for a while, but I want to get back playing football.

I want to get back playing club football.

“I won’t be going back to O’Tooles. I have made that clear on numerous occasions with them and with the county board. I don’t see how they could think I am going to go back after the way things have gone,” he added.
