We’ll be focusing primarily on the big game between Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic, while keeping an eye on the other four Premier Division matches.
It should be a fascinating match at Tallaght Stadium.
Rovers have had a slow start to the season, as they have tended to do in recent seasons.
The Hoops are bottom of the table, after one draw and two losses.
Meanwhile, Stephen Kenny’s men are fourth.
They also had a slow start, drawing with Drogheda and losing to Galway.
But the Saints have since picked up, with back-to-back wins against Sligo and Derry.

Confirmation of the teams for the game at Tallaght…

We’ve made one change from Monday’s win against Derry City, Barry Baggley returns from suspension in place of Jason McClelland, who is among the substitutes
Colm Whelan, who moved to Bohs from Derry in the off-season, has given the Gypsies the lead against the side who started the night top of the league, Waterford.
Bohs could really do with a win tonight, having lost three on the bounce after their opening victory over Shamrock Rovers.

19 mins: Grant gets in behind the Pat’s defence.
He has two attempts at a low cross, but they’re cut out on both occasions by Grivosti and Redmond respectively.

22 mins: O’Sullivan’s cross falls to Grant at the far post.
However, the winger’s first-time shot is deflected off-target.
After a decent start by Pat’s, Rovers are beginning to take control of this game.

Hello, and welcome to tonight’s liveblog.
We’re underway…
4 mins: It’s been a fairly uneventful start.
Pat’s have had more of the ball but there haven’t been any chances yet.
SHELBOURNE 0-1 DROGHEDA (DAVIS 4)
2024 FAI Cup winners Drogheda lead against reigning Premier Division champions Shelbourne at Tolka.
Warren Davis has given the visitors an early lead.
Kevin Doherty’s side have made a superb start to the season and gone top of the as-it-stands table as a result of that goal.
Here’s a look at the brilliant Davis goal to give Drogheda the advantage…
WATERFORD 0-1 BOHEMIANS (WHELAN 15)
CORK CITY 0-1 SLIGO ROVERS (ELDING 25)
Owen Elding has given Sligo the lead in Cork.
The 18-year-old is the son of former Bit O’Red star Anthony Elding.
Here’s a look at the fine Colm Whelan finish that put Bohs ahead.
33 mins: It remains fairly scrappy at Tallaght.
Neither side has really looked like scoring or taken the game by the scruff of the neck.
WATERFORD 0-2 BOHEMIANS (WHELAN 34)
Colm Whelan has doubled his tally for the season and Bohs’ advantage from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, as I type, in Tallaght, Burke flashes a powerful low shot just wide.
Here’s a look at Elding’s first goal of the season to separate the sides at Turner’s Cross…
WATERFORD 0-3 BOHEMIANS (WHELAN 42)
You would be forgiven for thinking Bohs were the team who started the night top of the league judging by the scoreline at the RSC.
Colm Whelan has got his and the team’s third of the game, and second from the penalty spot.
As I type, Mason Melia misses a gilt-edged chance.
A corner falls perfectly to him but his header comes back off the crossbar.
DERRY CITY 0-1 GALWAY (DYER 44)
Derry’s unconvincing start to the season continues, as Galway take the lead on the brink of half-time.
New Zealand international Moses Dyer, who signed in January, has got his first Premier Division goal for the club.
HALF-TIME: WATERFORD 0-3 BOHEMIANS
HALF-TIME: SHAMROCK ROVERS 0-0 ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC
HALF-TIME: DERRY 0-1 GALWAY
HALF-TIME: CORK 0-1 SLIGO
HALF-TIME: SHELBOURNE 0-1 DROGHEDA
So half-time in all tonight’s Premier Division matches and the game at Tallaght is the only one that remains scoreless.
Interestingly, the away side are leading in each of the other four games, which may or may not be a bad omen for Stephen Bradley’s side.
Here are the half-time scores in all of tonight’s First Division games…
The second half is underway at Tallaght…
Here’s a look at Colm Whelan’s hat-trick goal that has really kick-started his and Bohs’ season…
Check out the opening goal at the Brandywell courtesy of Moses Dyer…
51 mins: Moment of controversy at Tallaght.
Mulraney goes down in the Rovers area very easily.
He is already on a yellow but the referee decided not to penalise the winger for what appeared to be a dive.
Pat’s are lucky their player didn’t get sent off there.
DERRY CITY 1-1 GALWAY (DUFFY 53)
Michael Duffy has equalised for Derry from the penalty spot against Galway.
As I type, in Tallaght, McGinty gets out really sharply to stop Keena getting a shot away after the striker is sent through by Forrester.
56 mins: Chance for Rovers.
Sjoberg’s pass is short allowing Greene to nip in ahead of Redmond.
The striker is through on goal and tries to lob the goalkeeper but his attempt lands on the roof of the net.
60 mins: This game is opening up.
Sjoberg’s dangerous cross finds the head of Lopes and McGinty has to be alert to make a decent save and prevent an own goal.
CORK CITY 1-1 SLIGO ROVERS (NELSON 62)
The hosts are level at Turner’s Cross.
Kitt Edward Nelson, who signed on loan from Preston last month, has equalised for Cork.
SHAMROCK ROVERS 1-0 ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC (GRANT 64)
Tallaght has suddenly erupted.
Danny Grant, an off-season signing from Bohs, goes on a driving run.
He gets past Grivosti before his powerful shot from the edge of the area finds the net via a deflection.
The winger has had a difficult couple of years, but that moment could really reinvigorate his League of Ireland career.
Big moment at Turner’s Cross, with the game seemingly turning in favour of Cork.
Sligo’s Conor Reynolds has been sent off. He only had just come on and committed a bad challenge on Malik Dijksteel.
Less than 20 minutes of normal time remain there.
Here’s a look at the Grant goal…
77 mins: Pat’s are pushing for an equaliser now.
As I type, Keena gets on the end of a Kazeem cross, swivels away from the defender and fires just wide.
Around five minutes remain in each of the Premier Division games.
Waterford-Bohs is the only match that appears all but over.
90 mins: There have been a few nervy moments in the Rovers area.
Sjoberg had a penalty claim but the Pat’s protests were ignored.
There will be six minutes of stoppage time.
On Virgin, Vinny Perth has named Danny Grant as the player of the match.
The 25-year-old Lucan native looks set to be the matchwinner.
94 mins: There are more ignored Pat’s appeals for a penalty, as Kavanagh’s attempted cross comes off a Rovers arm.
Looking at the replay, it seems the correct decision, as it was accidental and the arms were down by the side.
FULL-TIME: WATERFORD 0-3 BOHEMIANS
FULL-TIME: SHAMROCK ROVERS 1-0 ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC
FULL-TIME: DERRY CITY 1-1 GALWAY
FULL-TIME: CORK CITY 1-1 SLIGO ROVERS
FULL-TIME: SHELBOURNE 0-1 DROGHEDA
So that’s that, a first league win of the season for Shamrock Rovers as St Pat’s inconsistent start continues.
The other standout result is Drogheda’s 1-0 victory over Shelbourne.
Kevin Doherty’s side remain unbeaten and are two points clear of second-place Waterford, following the latter’s comprehensive loss to Bohs.
First Division results below…
