4. The Mayo minor footballers also won a Connacht title and made an All-Ireland semi-final

5. Hurlers David Kenny and Ciaran Charlton were named to the Christy Ring Champions 15 team

6. Ballina’s Dave Heffernan broke into the Connacht starting team

7. Achill Island made the Connacht junior club football final where they were defeated by Aran Islands
