Former Munster lock Mick O'Driscoll on the sidelines as Cork Con win

Constitution recovered from a 15-3 deficit at half-time to claim a fine away win while Lansdowne tore Dolphin asunder.

PLAYING WITH THE BARBARIANS at Twickenham last weekend and on the sidelines with Cork Constitution in Templeogue today — Mick O’Driscoll is keeping busy after hanging up his boots earlier this year.

The former Munster and Ireland lock, who is now part of the Cork Constitution coaching set-up, was on the sidelines for the Ulster Bank League clash at Templeville Road this afternoon.

Con were trailing 15-3 at the break but three second-half tries from James Ryan, Gerry Hurley and Rob Jermyn resulted in a 22-18 win.

Result of the day — the last set of UBL matches before the festive break — was on the back pitch at the Aviva Stadium. Ron Boucher scored a hat-trick of tries for league champions Lansdowne as they monstered Dolphin 61-11.

Newly promoted Ballynahinch were beaten 16-12 by Clontarf at Ballymacarn Park. Old Belvedere beat Garryowen 15-5 at home thanks to tries from Peter Robb and Shaun Berne. Down at Tom Clifford Park, Young Munster beat UCD 22-16 with Brian Haugh kicking 17 points for the home side.

Clontarf lead Old Belvedere by one point with Lansdowne climbing to third in the league standings.
