Newstalk's 'Off the Ball' sees increase of 4,000 listeners

The programme has managed to thrive despite the high-profile departure of the Second Captains presenting team.

THE LATEST JNLR figures have revealed that Newstalk sports show Off the Ball has 43,000 listeners — an increase of 4,000 year on year.

The programme has managed to thrive despite the high-profile departure of the Second Captains presenting team last March, continuing to grow since Ger Gilroy, David McIntyre and Joe Molloy, among others, became mainstays of the show.

It’s part of a trend that has seen the station’s audience grow in general, with the results showing that the channel now has a record 315,000 listeners daily.

Other shows, including Newstalk ‘Breakfast, The Pat Kenny Show and Moncrieff have also experienced considerable audience growth in recent times.
