Ireland's Jeff Hendrick set for last-minute Premier League move and all today's transfer gossip

Plus, Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez could be set for a move to Stamford Bridge.

HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…

Jeff Hendrick is on the verge of completing a move to the Premier League, with newly-promoted Hull City winning the race for his signature, and the Tigers could complete the €12 million deal later today.

Out-of-favour Everton midfielder James McCarthy could also be on the move. Crystal Palace are the latest club to show an interest in signing the 25-year-old, but Championship side Newcastle United have denied making a bid.

Following their big-money capture of Christian Benteke, Palace are set to add competition for places up front by snapping up Loic Remy on loan from Chelsea.

Chelsea’s reported bid for Colombian star James Rodriguez has been turned down by Real Madrid, but an offer of €70 million may be enough for Los Blancos to reconsider.

After Jose Mourinho has sent a host of young stars away from Old Trafford either on permanent or temporary deals, the Red Devils may be about to swoop for 19-year-old striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United.

The chase to bring in a commanding centre-half is not yet over for Mourinho either, with Southampton’s Jose Fonte and Monaco’s Fabinho still linked with a move to the red side of Manchester.

Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan is set to join Jaap Stam’s Reading on a season-long loan move from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.

Wantaway striker Saido Berahino is set to leave West Brom, and Tony Pulis already has plans to spend that money by bringing in Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli and Spanish midfielder Ignacio Camacho from Malaga.

Finally, free agent Mathieu Flamini could be about to return to Italy with either Roma or Torinio.

After winning two league title and two European Cups with Real Madrid, Steve McManaman joined Manchester City in 2003, five years before the club was bought by Sheikh Mansour.

At City, the former Liverpool winger linked up with former teammates David James and Robbie Fowler, with Kevin Keegan at the helm.

Niggling injuries restricted the former England international reproducing his best form, with McManaman making only 25 league starts in his two years with the club.
