MARK QUIGLEY IS the latest League of Ireland player to try his luck out West as Sligo Rovers continue to strengthen ahead of next season.

The Bit O’Red announced this afternoon that the Dundalk marksman has agreed terms to join them for the 2012 season, following hot on the heels of the capture of Danny North from St Pat’s last month.

Quigley turned a few heads since his move to Oriel Park from Bohemians last December, scoring 21 times in 47 starts for the club including a superb double on his Lilywhites debut against Linfield in the Setanta Sport Cup.

The Dubliner became the first player to score more than 20 in a single season for Dundalk since Turlough O’Connor in 1971/72, picking up four awards in the club’s annual end of season honours.

Quigley joins North, Jason McGuinness, Alan Keane, Gavin Peers, Danny Ventre and Aaron Greene on the growing list of players who have committed to Paul Cook’s side for the coming season.

But the 2011 runners-up have lost captain Richie Ryan who agreed a move to SPL side Dundee United in January while Daryl Horgan has opted to stay on Leeside following an impressive loan spell with Cork City last season.
