The official says English rugby has hit “rock bottom” following the embarrassing leak of documents relating to their World Cup failure.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Andrew admitted he was partially to blame for the team’s disastrous campaign, but insisted he is not contemplating resigning as a result of the damaging revelations.

“I accept responsibility for what is going on here. Does it mean I’m going to resign? No it doesn’t. Does it mean it’s all broken? No it doesn’t.”

Andrew was quoted as suggesting the England players were “more focused on money than rugby” during the World Cup.

And speaking today, he revealed the seriousness with which he views the leaks:

“I am absolutely shattered by what is going on both on and off the field.

“The RFU has to sort itself out, this is rock bottom, the lowest of the low, and it can’t be allowed to continue.”
