RTÉ to show coverage of Stephanie Roche's big night in Zurich

The FIFA Ballon d’Or 2014 ceremony, which takes place on Monday 12 January, sees the Irish athlete go up against James Rodriguez and Robin van Persie.

STEPHANIE ROCHE’S BIG night in Zurich will be shown live on the RTÉ Player, while there will also be highlights of the event on RTÉ2, it has been confirmed.

The FIFA Ballon d’Or 2014 ceremony, which takes place on Monday 12 January, sees Roche go up against Colombia’s James Rodriguez and the Netherlands’ Robin van Persie for this year’s FIFA Puskás Award.

The event, which also sees Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer vie for the Ballon d’Or, will be shown live on the RTÉ Player from 5.30pm.

Highlights will subsequently be shown on RTÉ2 at 11.15pm.
