Sneijder 'not signing for City' as transfer window returns to a state of tedium

Despite reports, Wesley Sneijder has not agreed a deal to play for Manchester City (not a typo) next season, so say Sky Sports.

MANCHESTER CITY HAVE not stolen Wesley Sneijder from under the noses of bitter rivals Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.

Reports in the Gazetto Dello Sport had claimed that the Dutchman would play for Inter Milan against AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup in Beijing, before flying to England and signing a deal to play at the Etihad Stadium.

Well, that’s not the case, and United remain favourites to sign the 27-year-old as they gear up for Sunday’s Community Shield clash against Roberto Mancini’s side at Wembley.

Inter have said all summer that they have no intention of letting their star playmaker go, barring a ‘non-refusable’ offer, which will surely come from Old Trafford in the final five minutes of the transfer window.
