The Morning Score: Friday

As we wait for the Champions League and Europa League draws, here’s everything else you need to know this morning.

1. #EUROPA LEAGUE Shamrock Rovers will be the only Irish representative in this morning’s Europa League playoff draw after Sligo and St. Pat’s crashed out of the competition last night.

Two goals in the space of a first-half minute put pay to Sligo’s dreams as they were beaten 2-0 (2-0 agg) by Vorskla Poltava in the Showgrounds.

Meanwhile, after a day marred by a pay dispute, St. Pat’s lost 3-1 (5-1 agg) against Karpaty Lviv in Tallaght Stadium.

2. #ALL-IRELAND SFC Pat Gilroy and Mickey Harte have both named their starting line-ups ahead of tomorrow evening’s All-Ireland SFC quarter-final in headquarters.

Owen Mulligan returns at corner-forward as Tyrone make three changes to the team which beat Roscommon last weekend, while Cian O’Sullivan replaces Paul Conlon at corner-back for Dublin.

We’ve got tickets to give away for both games in Croke Park this weekend. Details on how to enter our competition are here.

3. #TIGER’S BACK Tiger Woods impressed on his return to the golf course as the WGC Bridgestone Invitational got underway at Firestone.

Teeing up for the first time in nearly three months, the 14-time Major champion made three birdies and opened with a two-under-68.

4. #RUGBY WORLD CUP World Cup winner and All Blacks supremo Zinzan Brooke believes that Ireland have got what it takes to win this year’s World Cup, but only if they are firing on all cylinders come the knockout stages.

The legendary number eight sat down with TheScore.ie yesterday for a chat about this year’s showdown in New Zealand. Keep your eyes peeled for the interview later today.

5. #END OF THE ROAD Cycling outfit HTC-Highroad announced yesterday that it will be ceasing operation at the end of the season after it failed to secure enough funding to continue.

The team’s collapse now opens the door for Tour de France green jersey winner Mark Cavendish to complete a rumoured transfer to Britain’s Team Sky for the 2012 season.

6. #TRY TIME I don’t think I’ve ever seen a quicker try than this one, scored by Crusaders’ Robbie Fruean just 19 seconds after kick-off. Check it out.
