Tony McCoy's 4000th winner won't be today

Non-runner messes up McCoy’s plans of a historic day at Chepstow.

TONY MCCOY’S WAIT for a landmark 4000th win looks set to continue for at least one more day.

McCoy heads to Chepstow today stuck on 3,998 career victories after drawing a rare blank with three rides at Exeter on Tuesday.

But Mission Complete has been declared a non-runner, leaving him with just one booked ride on the card.

The 39-year-old rides El Macca in the day’s opening race, the RABI Gateway Project Maiden Hurdle at 1.10pm.

Unless he picks up another ride over the course of the day, McCoy will have to wait until Thursday at earliest to hit the unprecedented milestone.
