WATCH: Ex-Newcastle midfielder Hugo Viana scores from his own half
FORMER NEWCASTLE MIDFIELDER Hugo Viana has been belatedly showing the kind of form that persuaded the club to pay €12 million for his services in 2002.
The Portuguese international, now playing for Braga, scored a measly four goals during his two seasons at the club, and was generally regarded as a failure during his time there.
And it’s unlikely he ever produced anything at Newcastle quite like his last-minute winner at the weekend, during Braga’s 1-0 win over Portimonense in the Portuguese League Cup.
And with strikes like the one below, it’s a wonder he wasn’t more prolific during his time on Tyneside.
It’s just a pity the Portuguese TV director wasn’t quite as alert as Viana.
