Weather Overview

The Atlantic continues to be dominated by a mess of low-pressure systems bringing some unseasonably good waves and predictably bad weather. The waves are decent sized and clean(ish) at the moment, but as those lows move closer the swells will be getting huge accompanied by very strong (40kph+) winds by Sunday.

You have been warned.

The north – Small and ultra-glassy today. Swell rising all weekend to its peak on Monday. However strong wind gusts will mean its mostly unsurfable.

Co Donegal/Sligo – Offshore and decent sized for all of Friday. Wind swings westerly Saturday and moderate to strong. Plus 4m swells on Sunday should be good to look at, but not to surf.

Co Clare – Cross-shore in these southerly winds, but still small and rideable today. Small chance of a wave early Sunday before the winds pick up.

Dingle Peninsula – Off shore and 2ft at Brandon Bay today. The rest of the weekend will depend on getting shelter. Coumeenole could be just tucked away enough to get out of the NW winds – but can it handle the 5m swells that we are expecting?

Cork & the south –Onshore today and then severe cross-shore for the rest of the weekend. The wind really has it in for the Rebels!
