WE TAKE IT most people know about Premier League stars such as Harry Arter and Shane Long, but what about lower-tier Irish players that will feature in the FA Cup this weekend?

Below are 54 players in contention to be part of the competition over the coming days…

Former Ireland U21 defender Michael Harriman is expected to feature for Wycombe against Aston Villa.

Stephen Gleeson is likely to play for Birmingham as they take on Premier League side Bournemouth.

Alan McCormack and Alan Judge could both be in action as Brentford take on Walsall, for whom Limerick-born midfielder Anthony Forde is expected to play.

Having just signed on loan from Man City, Ian Lawlor could make his debut for League One side Bury against Bradford, for whom Cork-born Billy Clarke could feature.

Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson is expected to be in action for Championship outfit Charlton against Colchester, who are likely to have ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan in their side.

Dublin-born midfielder Paul Keegan is expected to feature as League One team Doncaster host Premier League side Stoke.

Ireland U21 defender Jack Connors could feature for League Two outfit Dagenham and Redbridge, who travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.

Former St Pat’s player Jake Carroll could start for Hartlepool, who take on a Derby side that may feature Richard Keogh, Cyrus ChristieJeff Hendrick and Alex Pearce.

Paul McShane and Stephen Quinn are in line to play for Reading against fellow Championship side Huddersfield, who have both Sean Scannell and Joe Murphy available.

Enda Stevens, Brian Murphy and Adam Barton could all play for Portsmouth against Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich, with Daryl Murphy, David McGoldrick, Jonathan Douglas and Jay Tabb all available for the Tractor Boys.

Experienced midfielder Paul Green, who has 20 Ireland caps, could feature for Rotherham against Leeds.

Stephen Ward could make a rare start as Burnley take on fellow Championship team Middlesbrough.

Dubliner Mark Byrne could feature for League Two side Newport County, who take on Blackburn, for whom Shane Duffy and Darragh Lenihan are available to play.

John-Joe O’Toole and Brendan Moloney are in line to play for Northampton, as they host Championship side MK Dons, who could have Darren Potter and Samir Carruthers in their side.

Chris Forrester is likely to feature for League One side Peterborough against Preston, for whom Alan Browne, Eoin Doyle and Greg Cunningham could all play.

Ex-Ireland U21 player Derrick Williams is expected to start for Bristol City, who travel to face Premier League outfit West Brom.

Matt Doherty and Aaron McCarey are both available, as Wolves face West Ham at Upton Park.

Former League of Ireland striker Conor Sammon could feature, as League One outfit Sheffield United take on Man United in Saturday’s late kick-off at Old Trafford.

Patrick Hoban and Callum O’Dowda are expected to be available as Oxford host Premier League outfit Swansea.

Gary Dicker is set to be involved as Carlisle are at home to fellow League Two side Yeovil on Sunday.

League One side Scunthorpe are away to Chelsea on Sunday, and Paddy MaddenStephen Dawson and Niall Canavan could all be involved for the underdogs.

Finally, Anthony Pikington and Joe Mason are in line to play for Cardiff against Shrewsbury.
