The man who replaced Liam Brady as Arsenal academy coach given Wolfsburg manager's job

Andries Jonker took over from Brady in 2014.

ANDRIES JONKER, THE man who took over as Arsenal academy coach from Liam Brady in 2014, has been named as the new Wolfsburg manager.

Jonker, who took over from the Irish man in 2014, is a former assistant manager at the German club and was also the second in command to Louis van Gaal with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and the Netherlands.

He will be Wolfsburg’s third manager this season after the sacking of Valerien Ismael just four months after he took over from Dieter Hecking.

Wolfsburg sit 14th (of 18) in the Bundesliga, just two points above the relegation zone, having picked up only six wins all season and Jonker’s priority will be to save them from the drop.
