New season, same story as Sheridan bags cheeky last-minute winner

The Cavan-born striker’s fine form continues in Poland, as his side Jagiellonia sit top of the league.

CILLIAN SHERIDAN HELPED his side Jagiellonia Bialystok maintain their perfect start to the season yesterday as he bagged a late, late winner.

The Cavan native broke the deadlock as the clock ran towards 90 minutes, and capitalised on a costly error in defence.

He stole the ball from Pogon Szcecin captain Jaroslaw Fojut, and cooly slotted home to make it three wins from three in the new Ekstraklasa season for his side.

It comes as Sheridan’s second goal of the season, as Jagiellonia sit top of the table on nine points.
