Good news on the injury front for Cork as star forward set to be fit for Munster final

Conor Lehane is expected to be fit for the next month’s showdown with Clare.

CORK FORWARD CONOR Lehane is set to give manager Kieran Kingston a boost ahead of next month’s Munster senior hurling final by returning to full fitness in time for the showdown with Clare.

The Rebels have been sweating over Lehane’s availability for their first provincial decider appearance since 2014 after he aggravated an ankle problem in the semi-final victory over Waterford, a game he scored four points from play in.

Concerns were raised at the weekend when he missed a club game with Midleton but The42 understands the Cork camp are positive that he’ll win his race to be fit for the final on 9 July in Thurles.

In further good news for Kingston, Bill Cooper is also set to be have recovered from a hamstring problem in time to face the Banner as Cork bid to win their first Munster crown in three years.
