playoff push

For the first time in 13 long months, Donnacha Ryan starts for Munster

The second row replaces Paul O’Connell who missed training with a shoulder issue this week.

MUNSTER COACH ANTHONY Foley has been able to name Donnacha Ryan in his starting line-up for the first time since becoming head coach.

Foley was in charge of the forward pack when Ryan last started a game for Munster, that day the opposition was also Treviso, but Ryan suffered a problematic toe injury that has restricted him to just two appearances off the bench this year.

Ryan is one of three changes to Munster’s starting line-up for the visit of Treviso to Cork.

Stephen Archer is the second change to the pack while academy starlet Rory Scannell starts in the centre alongside Andrew Smith.
