SUE RONAN’S IRELAND side are feeling confident ahead of their crucial Euro 2017 qualifying match against Finland later today.
Head coach Ronan insists the mood in the camp is upbeat, and both herself and her players are hopeful that they can take home vital points.
“I am confident we can secure a victory which will keep us in contention for a play-off. We’re ready and focused to get a result and stay in contention for Euro 2017″ the former international said.
“The full panel is available. There’s a positive feeling in the camp.”
Third in Group 2, Ireland know they need to win. Their 5-0 victory over Montenegro in April was a positive performance, and Ronan is aware they need to do the same tonight to get their third qualifying win under their belt.
Ireland were beaten by Finland at home in their opening qualifier, but captain Emma Byrne is confident they can turn the tables this evening.
“We’ve a great chance. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result at home, it was a poor performance by us and we need to rectify that” the Arsenal goalkeeper said.
“It’s probably the most important game of our qualification so we need to win and we’re going out to win.”
With no injuries to report, the game kicks off at 16.05 this evening in Valkeakoski.
