CELTIC ARE CLOSE to completing the signing of Kolo Toure on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old defender, who is unattached since his Liverpool contract expired at the end of last season, is in Glasgow to undergo a medical and the deal should be tied up by the weekend, according to widespread reports.
Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Ivory Coast centre-half Toure has vast experience at the top level and will be a valuable addition for the Hoops, who have also been linked with Ireland and Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy.
Toure links up with ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who took over the Scottish Premiership champions in May, and is set to become their second summer signing after Moussa Dembele’s arrival from Fulham.
