MICHAEL CONLAN IS feeling pretty smug at the minute, and why wouldn’t he?
The boxer recently fought off stiff competition, most notably from Conor McGregor, to win the RTÉ Sports Person of the Year award for 2015. All in all, it’s been a pretty good year for him.
The 24-year-old made history in October by becoming the first ever Irishman to win a World Championship title while he also secured European gold in August.
So it’s perfectly understandable that he’s satisfied with life and he decided to show off his medal collection on Twitter earlier.
An Olympic bronze and World, European and Commonwealth Gold – not a bad collection but it’s not quite the complete set.
