Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins have cost Paddy Power quite a bit of money already

Can’t say we’ve too much sympathy for the bookmakers mind.

THE SAYING GOES that “you never see a bookie on a bike” but if Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins keep up their current strike rate at Cheltenham, then one bookie in particular may have to get the bus home at least.

With favourites Douvan (2/1) and Un De Sceaux (4/6) first past the post in the first two grade ones of this year festival, Paddy Power has had to refund over €3.5 million after offering money back as free bets if the former won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and the latter The Arkle.

Ouch.
