Paul Dunne off to a flying start on his PGA Tour debut

Greystones golfer three shots off the pace at the Farmers Insurance Open.

PAUL DUNNE HIT the ground running with an excellent round of 69 on his PGA Tour debut.

The Greystones native sits on three-under par after day one of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, three shots off the leaders.

Playing on a sponsor’s invite, Dunne showed no signs of nerves as he opened with three birdies on the back nine before adding a fourth at the par-three third.

The only blip came at the next when he missed a short par putt and left with his only bogey of the day.

American pair Scott Brown and Andrew Loupe lead the way on six-under-par. Shane Lowry is on one-under after an opening round of 71.
