RICHIE TOWELL IS everywhere right now.
With persistent rumours linking him with a move away from Dundalk, the League of Ireland’s best player certainly seems in demand.
So, given his hopes of securing a high-profile switch, no harm that he popped up in today’s edition of legendary Spanish publication MARCA.
The paper were listing the best attackers in Europe this season, based on their Golden Shoe ranking.
Towell’s 25 goals places him in seventh place currently, behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but ahead of Thomas Muller, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
It was a good day overall for the Dubliner as he was crowned the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month award for November.
He revealed that he has turned down offers from Turkey and Poland and that a Championship club would appear the most likely destination.
Nothing is done yet. It’s all up in the air at the moment and it’s just a waiting game,” he added.
I was hoping something would have been sorted last week. There are a good few clubs in for me but I have to weigh up what is best for me and my family. Hopefully something will be sorted by the end of the week.”
