Norwich bids for Robbie Brady are embarrassing - Bruce

The Hull City boss is disgusted at the Canaries’ valuation of the Ireland international.

HULL CITY MANAGER Steve Bruce insists that Robbie Brady won’t be going anywhere unless offers for the Ireland international are increased significantly.

The Tigers, relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, have been offloading a number of players as they prepare for life in the Championship and Irish pair Stephen Quinn and Paul McShane both recently joined Reading.

23-year-old left-sided player Brady, who can operate on the wing or at full-back, is one of their most prized assets and newly-promoted Norwich City have already had three bids rejected.

“Norwich have come in with bids for Robbie Brady but I have to say they’ve been embarrassing,” Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail.

“The supporters should know the truth and Norwich came in two weeks ago with a bid of £2m (€2.7m), £2.5m (€3.5m) and then £3m (€4.1m). That’s ridiculous for someone who is 23, has played two years in the Premier League and has become a regular international.

When we’ve just got almost twice that for Tom Ince (who joined Derby for £5m (€6.9m)). It doesn’t make sense. We paid £2.75m (€3.8m) for Robbie and that was three years ago.

“This can unsettle players, do this, that or the other, and it’s all part of the game. But Robbie Brady will not be going for anywhere near that.”
