Roy Keane sues Paddy Power over 'Braveheart' billboard ad
ROY KEANE IS bringing Irish betting company Paddy Power to court over an ad that saw him depicted as Braveheart.
The case was filed on Monday, 6 July. A spokesperson from Paddy Power confirmed that the case was over the ‘Braveheart’ billboard ad that Paddy Power created last month.
The ad featured Keane, who is the Republic of Ireland assistant manager, as Scotland’s William Wallace. Next to his image was the line:
A spokesperson for Paddy Power said they could not comment on the details of the case as it is before the courts.
In the billboard image, Keane’s face is melded with that of Wallace as played by Mel Gibson in the film Braveheart.
According to court documents, Roy is represented by A&L Goodbody, while Paddy Power is represented by Arthur Cox.
