VIKTOR TROICKI IS no shrinking violet, that is widely known.
But the tantrum he threw at Wimbledon today was pretty intense even by his standards.
The Serb crashed out of the second round with a five-set defeat to Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas this afternoon.
But not before a lengthy rant at the official who had overruled a line judge’s fault call when Troicki was just two lost points away from being eliminated.
That led to Troicki storming up to the chair with the relevant ball in hand to prove that it hadn’t caught the line. And he started screaming: “No way, look at it. You’re terrible, the worst umpire ever in the world. Did you see the ball? You’re so bad.”
Ramos-Vinolas clinched the match on the next point which just set Troicki off on one again.
“Do you know what you did? You’re horrible,” he shouted at the umpire
“What are you doing here. You’re the worst ever.
“You didn’t see anything today. You made 30 mistakes.”
He’s got form, this is how he reacted to a similar incident in 2013.
And this was only last year at Wimbledon:
And even more recently against Kei Nishikori at the Rome Open this year:
