14 Tipp hurlers make All Star list

Chanpions lead the way in nominations, while Shefflin looks for record-breaking tenth award.

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Tipperary are the county with the most nominations in this year’s hurling All Stars- fourteen in total.

Tipp are followed closely by the team they beat in that All-Ireland final, Kilkenny, with eleven. Cork, Galway and Waterford are all tied with sic nominations, while Antrim and Offaly both have a nomination each.

Henry Shefflin will be hoping to break the record for the most All Stars with his tenth nomination on 15 October. Tipp captain Eoin Kelly is looking for a sixth award, while teammate Lar Corbett is searching for a second.

Only three players named in last year’s All Stars, Alan McCrabbe (Dublin), Conor O’Mahony (Tipperary) and PJ Ryan (Kilkenny), did not make this year’s list.
