7 big transfers that could still happen between now and the end of the summer window

The deadline is in just over a week’s time, with plenty more transfers expected before then,

1. David De Gea to Real Madrid

THE FACT THAT De Gea has yet to play for Man United this season is telling. Clearly, the player is keen on a move to Real, and while manager Louis van Gaal has insisted the club will not sell the goalkeeper, the player’s agent is reportedly confident that a deal will ultimately be done before the transfer window’s closure.

2. Raphael Varane to Chelsea

Not content with just signing John Stones, Chelsea are also believed to want Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, particularly in light of John Terry’s recent struggles.

3. Saido Berahino to Tottenham

The 22-year-old is understood to be on the verge of handing in a transfer request as he bids to seal a move to Tottenham, with Spurs desperate for another striker to complement Harry Kane.

4. Hugo Lloris to Man United

Any transfer involving Lloris is obviously very much dependent on what happens with David De Gea and the French goalkeeper has returned to Tottenham’s starting XI recently following a wrist injury, but L’Equipe are reporting that a deal involving the two clubs is still possible before the window’s closure.

5. John Stones to Chelsea

Everton have so far held firm as Chelsea bid to bring John Stones to Stamford Bridge, turning down three bids including a most recent offer of £30million. However, the player is keen to move on and it would no surprise if Everton are willing to sell at the right price ultimately.

6. Kevin De Bruyne to Man City

It is claimed that the Wolfsburg player has already agreed terms with Man City, and it is simply a matter of the two clubs agreeing on a fee for the young midfielder, who is valued at around £50million. A late bid from Bayern Munich could further complicate matters, if the latest reports prove correct.

7. Paul Pogba to Chelsea

The French international has been linked with a number of clubs over the course of the summer but is still a Juventus player for now. However, the London club could do with some inspiration after an unconvincing start to the season and are understood to be preparing a £70million bid for Pogba.
