Ireland's Aiden McGeady was sent off tonight, and Twitter was NOT impressed

The winger received a second booking for the ill-advised tackle, and was consequently forced to leave the field.

IT’S NOT BEEN the best of seasons for Aiden McGeady and Everton, and tonight looks like being no exception.

Already trailing West Ham 1-0 in their FA Cup replay at Upton Park, a rash challenge from McGeady put his side in further trouble.

The winger received a second booking for the ill-advised tackle, and was consequently forced to leave the field.

Perhaps luckily for McGeady though, Kevin Mirallas then equalised, before Romelu Lukaku put the Toffees ahead in extra-time and Carlton Cole brought the teams level once more in extra-time.

Despite a promising start to this season, it’s largely been a disappointing spell at the club for the Irish international, with the ex-Celtic winger often struggling to get in the first team.

Twitter, unsurprisingly, was also unimpressed with the 27-year-old.

At least one person appeared to be defending him though.
