JOCKEY ANA O’BRIEN has been airlifted to hospital this evening after taking a bad fall in the 6.20pm race at the Killarney Races.
The youngest daughter of champion trainer Aidan O’Brien was riding Druids Cross — a horse trained by her brother, Joseph.
The 21-year-old was moved from the track by ambulance, and attended to at the course.
She has reportedly been taken to Cork University Hospital by an Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopter.
“The news was a bit better when she was leaving, so hopefully that’s right,” Ruby Walsh told the Attheraces channel at the track. “She’s gone straight to CUH and fingers crossed for her.”
The three-year-old horse Druids Cross was fatally injured.
Racing at Killarney was delayed until after 8pm following the incident.
