A DAY AFTER it was reported by several UK media outlets that Chelsea had agreed a £35m fee to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez has once more been linked with the exit door.
According to John Cross in The Mirror, Manchester City have made a cash-plus-Raheem Sterling offer for Alexis Sanchez, with just two days remaining until the transfer window closes.
Sterling has started the season well for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring the equaliser at home to Everton and a late, late winner at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Were he to join Arsenal as part of a Sanchez deal or otherwise, he’d be suspended for their 9 September fixture at home to the latter, having received a second yellow card for celebrating his 97th minute winner with City’s travelling fans at Dean Court.

Arsenal have insisted all summer that Sanchez is not for sale, risking losing him for nothing next summer when his contract expires. It has been suggested that they’d consider a bid in the region of £70m, but City are as of yet unwilling to part ways with such a sum, and believe a part-exchange deal may be their best option.
Cross notes that it remains unlikely Arsenal will sanction the sale of their Chilean talisman.
