Earlier today, Barton signalled his intentions, tweeting: “Going to make a decision today, its [sic] only fair to all parties.”
Despite being made available on a free transfer, Barton had started the first two games for Newcastle so far this season.
Speaking to the official QPR website, Barton said:
The club’s manager Neil Warnock added:
Barton made 81 appearances for Newcastle, scoring 7 goals, after moving to the club for £5.8 million from Man City.
