Because he's retiring, here's your Trevor Mortimer throwback pic of the day

The Mayo veteran, who last played in the All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kerry, is hanging up his boots.

MAYO VETERAN TREVOR MORTIMER has announced his retirement from inter-county football.

The Shrule-Glencorrib clubman made his inter-county debut in 2000 and was part of the Mayo squads which narrowly missed out on All-Ireland titles to Kerry in the 2004 and 2006 finals.

Some younger fans may remember him as the skin-head wing-back of last season…

… but others will never forget the magical 2002 National Football League campaign when the young forward briefly rocked a mop of curls that even Rory McIlroy would be proud of.
