Here’s the round-up of today’s GAA club hurling action

It’s a busy day of hurling around the country.

Kilkenny SHC quarter-finals

Carrickshock saw off Dicksboro in a poor enough game that saw both sides finish with 14 men this afternoon.

The ref sent off a man from each outfit at the start of the second half after an incident at the end of the first period.

Carrickshock march on but will do so, it seems, without county star John Tennyson who left the pitch with his arm in a sling. Earlier Clara out-pointed Erin’s Own on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-11.

St Martin’s  edged out James Stephens by a single point — 2-14 to 1-16 — to ensure their future participation while Ballyhale Shamrocks were too good for O’Loughlin Gaels; they won out on a scoreline of 1-21 to 1-17. Colin Fennelly goal scored the goal for Ballyhale after good work from Henry Shefflin.

Tipperary SHC semi-finals

Éire Óg, Nenagh and Kildangan will have to do it again as they couldn’t be separated at Semple Stadium today.

The teams played out a 4-13 to 2-19 draw. Kildangan were some nine points down at one stage but managed to claw their way back into it to force a replay in front of 4,650 spectators.

Loughmore-Castleiney are, meanwhile, the first team into the Tipperary hurling decider thanks to a 1-17 to 2-12 win over Borris-Ileigh in Thurles.

Waterford SHC semi-finals:

Passage and Ballygunner will meet on 13 October to decide the winner of this year’s Waterford county title. Ballygunner were 1-13 to 0-11 winners over Abbeyside this evening, JJ Hutchinson with the goal for the city side.

Earlier, Passage ran out 3-15 to 2-13 victors in their game at Walsh Park. Goals from Conor Carey and substitute Sean Hogan, moments after his introduction, were key to the win in a tense battle.

Laois SHC final

Camross are Laois SHC champions for the first time in six years thanks to a 2-12 to 1-12 win over Kilcotton at O’Moore Park this evening. The win marks a record 24th title win for the club.

Camross led 1-9 to 0-6 at the break and though the losers battled to the end, it came down to a one-score game.
