BARNSLEY’S TRIP TO Nottingham Forest was in danger of fizzling out in a stalemate in the Championship this afternoon.
Fortunately, Corkman Conor Hourihane popped up to smash a 30-yard half volley beyond Forest ‘keeper Stephen Henderson.

Hourihane has been in excellent form for Barnsley this season, and the 1 – 0 win pushes the promoted side to within four points of the playoff places in the second tier.
Elsewhere, Reading warmed up for their FA Cup meeting with Manchester United by coming from two down to beat Bristol City 2 – 3. Ireland’s Liam Kelly got the comeback going with his first goal for the Royals with just 18 minutes to go.
Yann Kermorgant’s late brace sealed the unlikely win.
