THE NOTORIOUS CONOR McGregor got paid on Sunday night, collecting $220,000 (€190,000) in disclosed earnings for his win in Boston.
McGregor demolished Dennis Siver in the main event at UFC Fight Night 59 and sealed his shot against featherweight champion Jose Aldo later this year.
Siver survived until 1:54 of the second round — meaning McGregor netted around $530 per second for the win.
Figures released to MMAFighting.com show that the Dubliner, now ranked fourth in the division, was paid $85,000 for fighting and another $85,000 for winning.
McGregor also netted a $50,000 bonus for Performance of the Night.
The disclosed figures do not take account of any sponsorship revenue or discretionary bonus. Considering McGregor inked a lucrative merchandise deal with Reebok last week, and pulled in the highest audience for a UFC Fight Night on cable television in more than five years, his total earnings for the night’s work are likely to be even higher.
Ireland’s other winners on the night, Paddy Holohan and Cathal Pendred, pocketed $20,000 and $16,000 respectively for their victories over Shane Howell and Sean Spencer.
Antrim’s Norman Parke, who lost a narrow split decision against Gleison Tibau, was paid $20,000.
