A WEEK AFTER starring in the Connacht Ladies Football final, Cora Staunton continued her prolific form yesterday as she plundered 9-12 in a club game.
The 9-time All Star is one of the most decorated players in the game but this is surely a new record as she tore the opposition apart during Carnaconโs demolition job.
In the end, the scoreline was a resounding 15-19 to 1-5.
Last week, Staunton scored 1-15 in the provincial final for Mayo and was awarded the player-of-the-match award for her efforts, although they were ultimately in vain as Galway prevailed by a single point.
Nonetheless, Mayo are certainly a side to watch in this yearโs championship with Staunton in red hot form.
As one of her team-mates put it, โthank god sheโs on our team.โ
She is the greatest ever ladies footballer and there will never be another like her. Now if only the Mayo menโs team had a forward like that
Aidan Oโ Shea
Did the opposition even know the rules of Football or even played before. This is rediculous and not something to celebrate.
Whats ridiculous is your spelling
Whatโs*
I agree but I blame management, surly she could have been taken off even after the 5th goal. See how the rest of the team play without her, plan for a game she might be missing I dono try learn something from it. Because beating a team by that amount does nothing for nobody. All too easy for Cora and incredibly disheartening for the other team. Imagine how they feel reading the article.
All a result like that is doing is destroying the morale of the opposition. Ladies football needs encouragement to grow and develop. What incentive is there to try if thatโs the gap in standard.
The management should be ashamed
No joy for either team really
And they said Caitlyn Jenner would never make it in the GAA!
Was at the Armagh and Roscommon ladies minor semi final yesterday and Aimee Mackin scored 4-4 out of the 5-4 Armagh scored
Cool story bro
And we used to think our Kilkenny senior footballers lost by big margins.
