REIGNING MUNSTER U21 football champions Cork have named six members of the 2014 title winning side for Wednesday night’s opener in this year’s championship.

But senior star Brian O’Driscoll has to be content with a place on the bench after his recent injury problems that saw him come off in UCC’s Sigerson Cup final.

Cork travel to the Gaelic Grounds to take on Limerick in the Eirgrid Munster U21 football championship with the winners facing Kerry at the semi-final stage.

Manager Sean Hayes can still call on a strong side with goalkeeper Michael Martin, full-back and captain Jamie Davis, corner-back Stephen Cronin, centre-back Sean White, wing-back Kevin Crowley and midfielder Ian Maguire all having started in the final win over Tipperary last April.

In addition midfielder Darragh Murphy was a sub last year while Dylan Quinn, Tomas O’Rourke – a brother of Cork senior John – Conor Horgan and Cathal Vaughan were all members of last year’s extended panel.
