Kerry's Declan O'Sullivan gets all-clear after x-ray on jaw injury

The Kingdom also have injury concerns over Eoin Brosnan and Jonathan Lyne.

KERRY HAVE BEEN boosted by the news that x-ray results have given the all-clear to attacker Declan O’Sullivan after he sustained a jaw injury in training earlier this week.

O’Sullivan received the accidental blow to his jaw in training on Tuesday night.

But Kerry GAA chiefs have confirmed through the county’s official website that fears have been allayed that O’Sullivan suffered a serious injury.

He has now been given the green light to resume training with the squad as they gear up for their Munster final date on July 7th following recent victories over Tipperary and Waterford at home in Fitzgerald Stadium.

The news on Dr Crokes Eoin Brosnan and Legion’s Jonathan Lyne is less clear. Brosnan, who did come on as a substitute against Waterford, has been hampered with a knee injury while Lyne is battling an ankle problem.

Both players are set to meet consultants next week to ascertain the seriousness of their injuries with Lyne requiring a scan on his ankle once swelling has subsided.

Kerry will discover the identity of their opponents in this year’s Munster senior final when the other semi-final clash takes place this Sunday between Clare and Cork in Cusack Park in Ennis.

If Cork prevail in that encounter, then Kerry will enjoy home advantage in Killarney for the Munster decider.

The Kerry minor football side have also qualified for the curtain-raiser in their provincial final where they will face the reigning champions in that grade Tipperary.
