ALAN BROGAN COULD miss most of Dublin’s league campaign as he goes under the knife for surgery.
Brogan is due to have an operation on the groin problem that blighted his 2012 season and looks certain to be on the sidelines when the Dubs’ league campaign kicks off in February.
The three-time All-Star battled injury last season and despite efforts to have him fit for the All-Ireland semi-final, one of Pat Gilroy’s principle attacking threats was reduced to a brief cameo as a second-half sub in the defeat to Mayo.
Now new man Jim Gavin will have to plan without the 30-year-old for his first league games as Dubs boss, starting with the Division 1 opener against Cork on 2 February.
Gavin could also be without Eoghan O’Gara after the Tempelogue Synge Street forward revealed today that he is due to have hip surgery in the coming weeks.
