Dublin enter this game as they chase their third All-Ireland U21 crown in five years.

Penalty for Roscommon!

Black card for Dublin’s David Byrne for that foul on Donie Smith.

Roscommon have missed it! It’s a glorious chance for them to get back into the game but Donie Smith”s effort is weakly hit and the low shot is saved by Lorcan Molloy with Dublin able to clear to safety.

Sub: Emmett O’Conghaile is in to the Dublin team for Byrne.

Safe to say Dublin look to be on course for their third All-Ireland title at U21 level in five years. They’ve been in complete control of this game with the likes of Paul Mannion, Conor McHugh and Cormac Costello wreaking havoc in attack. Nothing has gone right for Roscommon and Donie Smith’s missed penalty was a major setback for them.

Dublin 1-17 Roscommon 0-1: 35 mins – That should be that now. Conor McHugh billows the back of the Roscommon net for the first goal of the game after great work by Costello to create the chance.

Dublin 1-17 Roscommon 1-2: 36 mins – Finally Roscommon get another point through Diarmuid Murtagh and it’s followed up by Murtagh palming the ball to the net after great work by Roscommon as they counter-attacked.

Another goal for Roscommon!

Dublin 1-17 Roscommon 2-2: 40 mins – The Roscommon fans are in full voice again as they find the net once more. It’s a superb strike by Ciaran Kilcline as the ball broke kindly for him and he smashed his shot past Lorcan Molloy.

Another goal for Roscommon, this time from Murtagh!

Dublin 1-18 Roscommon 3-3: 44 mins – Murtagh with his second goal of the game as chaos ensues in the Dublin defence with the ball breaking loose, David Murray seizes it and fists inside to Murtagh who flicks to the net. Kilcline unleashes a fierce low drive off his left that Lorcan Molloy does well to get down and tip away with his hand. The rebound just eludes Adrian Gleeson and Dublin clear.

Sub: Dublin bring in Stephen Cunningham for the injured Cormac Costello while Roscommon introduce Sean Flynn for Ronan Daly.

Dublin 1-19 Roscommon 3-5: 53 mins – Another Roscommon point from Enda Smith.

Sub: Niall Walsh is on for Dublin for Mannion.

Full-Time: Dublin 1-21 Roscommon 3-6

And that’s it, Dublin are the 2014 All-Ireland U21 football champions.

No doubt about Dublin’s victory, a fully deserved success over the Rossies. That’s their third crown in five years while it’s a second defeat in a final in three years for Roscommon. That’s all from us, thanks for joining in.
