Diarmuid Connolly helped St Vincent's to a big win in the Dublin SHC tonight

Elsewhere former Dublin skipper John McCaffrey enjoyed an opening round victory with Lucan Sarsfields.

THERE WERE WINS for St Vincent’s, Lucan Sarsfields and Crumlin in the opening round of the Dublin SHC tonight.

John Hetherton, Keith Connolly, Rory Fallon and county player Rian McBride bagged goals as St Vincent’s ran out convincing 4-21 to 0-16 winners over St Jude’s.

Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly lined out at midfield for the Marino club, scoring two points and setting up the third goal.

John McCaffrey, who captained Dublin to a Leinster title in 2013, and current Blues wing-back Chris Crummey helped Lucan Sarsfields to a convincing 14-point win over St Brigid’s.

Finally, Crumlin enjoyed a narrow one-point victory against Faughs.
